The Personal Studio is designed to create dynamic, publication-ready videos at the push of a button. This all-in-one, easy-to-use video production resource offers a teleprompter, backdrops, cameras, microphones, and preconfigured professional lighting.
An intuitive touchscreen interface enables users to capture, stream, and edit videos in real-time. This system uses the versatile Wirecast software, which provides features such as shot selection, title overlays, picture-in-picture, chroma keying, annotation, and multiple inputs. There is also a laptop connection with modes for capturing or streaming an activity.
Personal Studio Orientations:
Due to Covid-19 restrictions we are not offering in-person orientations at this time.
Personal Studio orientations are offered at 2:30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, and 10:30am on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This orientation covers software, equipment, and room policies. Upon completing an orientation, users will be able to reserve the room.

COVID Reservation Policy, Protocols and Precautions
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, until further notice these additional limitations and procedures must be observed as part of any use of Duderstadt Center Media & Studio Arts facilities. Please take these guidelines into consideration when submitting your proposal.
Certification
- Personal Studio access is granted after attending a Personal Studio Orientation. Due to the COVID safety guidelines, in person Orientations will not be happening. We are currently exploring Remote Video Orientations for the Personal Studio and when we are able, information on how to attend will be made available. For the immediate future, only previously certified users will have access.
User Support
- All client support and consulting will be held by video conference.
- All Personal Studio Special Requests will be considered within the constraints demanded by these.COVID safety guidelines.
- Priority will be given in this order:
- Classes, coursework and degree required student projects
- Faculty research projects
- Student/Faculty independent projects - If a COVID-19 case is suspected, we will contact EHS at [email protected] to assess the need for additional cleaning and potential isolation. The current production or class will be cancelled and DC will make every attempt to reschedule it for a later date when safe to do so.
COVID Reservation Policy
- For the duration of COVID Pandemic, Faculty, Staff and Students may request access for a duration of time to complete work for a credit class or research projects. For the duration, which may now extend over several days, they will be the only individual other than DMC staff to have access to the Personal Studio.

Protocol Within the Personal Studio
- Social Distancing must be maintained at all times
- All users must respect waiting area floors marked with 6-foot distancing while waiting for entry.
- Individual space required per individual is (36ft x Pi) or 113 sq.ft. (circular), 144 sq.ft. (square).
- Maximum # of people allowed per Multimedia Room, including staff is 1 - Face masks are required for all occupants, except when recording.
- Operated only during Duderstadt Center Operating Hours
- Cleaning
- Users are instructed to clean at start and end of their reservation with disinfectant supplied in each room.
- DMC Staff cleans rooms at the start of each reservation.
- Janitorial Staff cleans rooms while the building is closed. This includes only the doors, floors, chairs and furniture surfaces. - When the reservation is over, the User who checked out the key must deposit the key in the Key Lockbox located at first floor Info Desk
