Tom Bray
Converging Technologies Consultant - Ground Connections, Duderstadt Center
Also a member of the faculty at the UM Stamps School of Art & Design, Tom is the Duderstadt Center’s Renaissance Man. He has been a media, theater, performance and event professional for more than 40 years, and has been working in higher education for more than 25. In these many lives Tom has learned a great deal about many things, so sitting down to discuss your “crazy idea” with him is like meeting with 5 or 6 people at once. His fluency in both the technical and artistic sides of media-rich projects enables his colleagues to extend their reach and delight their audiences, in or out of the classroom. His facility with technology and his ability to scaffold any project enables him to get the tools and tech out of the way of the user experience - which is why he’s our “Converging Technology” Consultant.
He is freely available to all members of the UM community - students & faculty - in or out of the Duderstadt Center. He has traveled extensively internationally, assisting various faculty with their research projects. And he still retains his curiosity about what’s around the next corner.
